Welcome to Pinewoods Animal Hospital: A Tail-Wagging Experience!
At Pinewoods Animal Hospital, we’re dedicated to ensuring that each visit is a paw-sitive and stress-free experience for both you and your beloved pets, exclusively serving dogs and cats. Here’s what to expect during your visit:
request an appointmentReminders to Keep You on Track
We understand life gets busy, so we send friendly reminders about your pet’s upcoming annual exams, vaccines, or treatment due dates. Our convenient email and post card reminders make scheduling hassle-free, allowing you to book online, by phone, or directly from our reminder email. If plans change, just let us know at your earliest convenience.
Arrival – Where the Tail Begins
Upon arriving, our friendly receptionists will check you in, ensuring all information is verified. After accepting any samples or paperwork you’ve brought along, you’ll be invited to take a seat in our welcoming reception area. Your adventure with us officially begins!
Your Friendly Technician – The Perfect Companion
A technician will greet you, weigh your pet (smaller animals often in the exam room), and collect a brief/current history for the doctor. This is the ideal time to share any new developments or list concerns you’d like to discuss. We’re here to answer all your questions thoroughly, so feel free to come prepared!
The Exam – A Comprehensive Wellness Journey
For your puppy/kitten’s first visit, a welcome pack awaits, complete with FAQs, local puppy resources, and a dose of their first monthly heartworm preventative. During the thorough hands-on examination, your doctor will evaluate your pet from nose to tail (or beak to tail feathers), discussing diet, medications, training, behavior, and specific concerns. After the exam, your doctor will review findings, recommendations, and address any medication or dietary needs.
Lab and Diagnostics – Insightful Healthcare
At times, your vet may recommend lab tests or diagnostics to guide treatment. Your doctor will explain the purpose and process, ensuring you’re well-informed. Some tests are done in-house, while others may be processed externally. Expect a call within 48-72 hours to discuss results.
Check-Out and Thank You – Wrapping Up with a Wag
After your visit, return to the reception area while we update records and, if needed, prepare medications. A technician will review medications, and you’ll check out with our receptionists, who can assist with preventatives and future appointments. Charges are settled at the time of the visit by cash, check, or major credit card.
In the days following, expect a sincere thank-you note via email. Your feedback is invaluable, so occasional surveys help us continuously enhance our services. Your input is appreciated, and we’re here to make pet care easy for you.
Technician Appointments – Ongoing Care Simplified
For routine procedures, vaccinations, or medical grooming, your doctor may recommend technician appointments. Upon arrival, check in at the front desk, where your technician will review history and procedures. Most treatments occur in our well-equipped treatment area, with your technician updating you on completion.
Surgery and Dental Appointments – Focused Care, Trusted Hands:
For planned surgeries or dental appointments, arrive between 8-8:30 am with your pet fasted. Our technician will guide you through admission, provide an overview of the day, and review your estimate. Post-surgical care instructions and consent forms are provided at discharge.
Emergencies – Compassionate Care When Needed
We prioritize easy access to emergency care during the day. If an emergency is beyond our schedule or expertise, we may refer you to one of our trusted 24-Hour Veterinary Emergency Centers in the area.
Trust Pinewoods Animal Hospital for a delightful and comprehensive veterinary experience, where every wag, purr, and tail flick matters. Your pets are family, and we’re here to ensure they receive the best care with a touch of warmth and understanding.
